Task 7 - Shot plans

Throughout my opening sequence, there will be a variety of different camera shots being used for different visuals and effects. I will try and incorporate as many different shots to match the conventions of a thriller and to maximise the full shots potential.

POV Shot:

  • A shot of the victim walking up the stairs to a noise he believed he heard upstairs. This makes the audience believe they are the character  (empathise) and creates tension and suspense.
  • POV shot when the killer is peering through the small gap in the bathroom door looking at the victim. This allows the viewer to witness the killer's angle and scare them as they now know what will happen next.

Close up Shot:

  • Close up of the victim putting the keys into the front door
  • The victim going up to the chair and ripping the tape off the chair

Tracking Shot:

  • Tracking shot of the victim walking up the stairs and through the hallway
  • Tracking shot of the killer walking out the bedroom and out of the house through the front door

Low Angle/Established Shot:

  • This will be used when the victim goes up to the bath, and the killer is seen when the victim walks past the door

Mid Shots:

  • When the victim is investigating the cupboards around the kitchen
  • As the victim exits the car to enter the house
  • While the victim is entering the kitchen and notices the arranged ornaments

Horizontal Pans:

  • Pans of the ornaments that are perfectly arranged to signify the strangeness of the house
